Babysitting

Earlier this fall, my mom and I went to babysit the cutest little twins I've ever seen! They are Alexis and Nathan C. Thier parents went out for the first time since the twins were born and we were the lucky babysitters! I am looking forward to doing it again!
By the way, I apologize that I have not been keeping up on my blog. I will try to do better from now on.

Just Hangin'

I went to the Exploration Station. It's a place where you learn about the human body. It was really neat. In this picture I am using a machine that times how long you can hang by using your muscular system.

China Speech

I was involved in a public speaking class at one of our homeschool co-ops. Everyone in the class had a country that they had to do a speech on at the end of the semester. I had China. It was fun because I got to learn a lot about another country and be on stage which I really enjoy.

Babysitting 101

My mom has let me start babysitting here at home. Although she is here, I have full responsibility and get to keep any money that is made too. So far I have babysat a four year old girl named Remy and a 1 year old boy named Caleb (2x). They are both so cute and I really enjoy doing it. I am hoping to be a regular babysitter for Caleb.

It's Real, You Can Eat It!

My dad recently bought us a George Foreman grill. I used it to make these burgers for dinner a couple weeks ago. Sorry I haven't posted them already.

The hamburger was topped with colby jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauteed green & red peppers. I also made my oven fries on the side. Dad said that it was all really good.

Mimi & I share the same birthday so she was opening presents too. She got an ice cream maker for the grandkids!

Happy Birthday To Me

Yesterday was my 11th birthday. It was one of the best birthdays ever! First we went to Olive Garden for a great lunch. Then I went to get a camera which ended up discontinued, but the nice guys at Sears tracked down the floor model (long story). It is a hard to find teal blue and I have been planning to get it for months. Then I went to get my nails done, with my mom. The ring finger has free hand artwork on it. Then we went out for coffee!

Winter Tea

I was invited to a tea party for young ladies by my Bright Lights teacher. I had a lot of fun. My parents bought me the dress and shoes for it. My teacher is the one next to me.

Chow's On

I made this a couple weeks ago. It's ham chowder. It was really good & easy.

Rosemary & Lemon Chicken

This is a recipe that I found out of some cookbooks that my mom ordered. I had it with four cheese potatoes and apple sauce. It was quite simple to make. I flavored with lemon, garlic, rosemary, olive oil, and s&p; then I broiled it on top of lemons for about 30 minutes.

? Swimmin In The Winter?

Drew, mommy, and I went swimming at the Warren recreation center. It's always very fun!

Daddy's Birthday Gift

Drew and I attend a homeschool co-op every other Friday. This is a picture of the pillowcase that I made in sewing class. Right now we are working on a tote bag. Pictures to come!

Crockpot Cookin'

This crock pot lasagna was very good. Too bad my daddy wasn't feeling well and couldn't eat much :-(

It had easy ingredients and was also very easy to make

.

Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, oregano, s&p, lasagna noodles, tomato sauce & paste, onions, garlic & water.

The garlic bread was from the freezer.

Daddy's Favorite!

I made this beef stew this Tuesday and it will be a keeper because my dad really liked it. He said it was the best stew he had ever had! I also made box biscuits. Pretty easy.

The stew ingredients were as follows:

stew beef, tomato juice, celery, carrots, onion, garlic, oregano, flour & sugar.

I slow cooked it in a crock pot for 8 hours.

Very yummy!

Tons of Turkey

My mom recently cooked the turkey my dad got from work on Thanksgiving. She wants me to use more of what is in the house right now, so I did a turkey noodle soup. It was very good.

I also made cheesy pretzels!

Here was another good one

I made this 2 weeks ago. It's called Chicken Piccata, proscuitto wrapped asparagus (this is not the exact recipe because I added cream cheese in the middle), and my own roasted red potato with veggies recipe.

Tuesday Dinner

Last night I made Ravioli Caprese with a homemade tomato sauce.
Here are the recipes-

It turned out really well. Next time I will try to use the fresh basil that it called for, instead of dry. We couldn't find fresh basil at 4 different places!

Mom's Suggestion

Mom suggested that I start blogging, so here I am. I hope you enjoy checking out my page. I will usually keep you updated on what's going on in my life concerning homeschool and everything. Also, because I love cooking, I will be posting pics of the dinners I do. My parents gave me the responsibility of dinner every Tuesday night. I plan it out, shop for it and prepare it. It's a lot of fun. I'll also include the recipe of what I did.
